Nurse Ambassador Award DEADLINE IS MONDAY SEPTEMBER 11, 2006
The purpose of the award is to recognize a nursing student’s
participation in outreach activities as a demonstration of leadership,
professionalism, stewardship, and awareness of issues affecting the nursing
profession.
The recipients will receive
a plaque and a Littman Master Cardiology Stethoscope.
The
Coalition for Nursing Careers in California (CNCC) is committed to achieving
an adequate and diverse nursing workforce for the state of California.
One of the CNCC’s initiatives is the RN Ambassador Program that
encourages community outreach by RNs speaking to groups about the many
opportunities a nursing career offers.
In
collaboration with the California Nursing Students’ Association
(CNSA) the CNCC is pleased to announce its annual Student
Nurse Ambassador Award. The award will be given to nursing
students in California who demonstrate leadership, professionalism,
and
stewardship and performs community outreach activities heralding careers
in nursing.
The award will be presented at the CNSA Annual Convention.
All nominees must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Must be at least a second year nursing student enrolled
in an accredited nursing program in California.
Must be a current member of the California Nursing
Students’ Association (join
CNSA now) or the National Student Nurses’ Association (join
NSNA now).
Must have participated in at least four outreach
activities in 2005. Outreach can include education and community projects,
such as participation at blood pressure and diabetic teaching fairs.
Letter of recommendation from an instructor describing
leadership, professionalism, stewardship, and awareness of issues affecting
the nursing profession. Letter should not exceed one page. Click

Letter confirming participation in outreach activities
and include a summary of the events describing audience demographics,
number of attendees, locations, and name and phone numbers of sponsors
for verification. Letter should not exceed one page.
List of other outreach activities, locations, names
and phone numbers of sponsors for verification.
Copy of CNSA or NSNA membership card.
It is your responsibility to ensure that
all materials are complete and submitted on time even if another individual
or institution submits them on your behalf. Incomplete or late nominations
will not be considered.
Nominations for the 2004 Student Nurse Ambassador Award
are now being accepted.
