Nursing Scholarship Awarded

Meet Tiffany, the proud recipient of the first $2,000 scholarship jointly awarded by chooseNursing.com and NurseWeek magazine. Tiffany will be starting her second year in nursing school at Santa Monica College this year.

Tiffany's passion for nursing began when she was selected to be one of 15 students to participate in the Los Angeles Mentors Program offered by Charles R. Drew University's College of Allied Health, which gave her hands-on experience in different areas of the hospital while assisting physicians during rotation. Her love for children soon pointed her in the direction of Pediatrics, where she plans to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. According to Tiffany, "My dream is to contribute to the betterment of children's lives through various outreach efforts. I am determined to not only achieve my goals and succeed, but to also make my parents proud by becoming the first and only college graduate in my family."
