Cytology is the study of cells. A Cytotechnologist examines cells under a microscope to detect abnormalities that might indicate infections, cancer or other diseases. When a Cytotechnologist detects an abnormality, they work with pathologists (disease experts) to determine an accurate diagnosis for the patient. This job is great for an independent problem solver who also works well as part of a team.
