Surgical Technologists assist in operations, from pre-op to post. Their role starts before the operation, preparing surgical instruments, equipment, sterile linens, and the patients. The job continues throughout the procedures, holding retractors, cutting sutures, and keeping track of all instruments needed for the operation, and ends in helping nurses transfer patients and prepare the room for the next operation.
