Respiratory Therapists help patients with breathing disorders. This role includes working with ailments such as asthma and emphysema as well as working in emergency care situations like asphyxiation, heart failure or stroke. From diagnoses to treatments, Respiratory Therapists oversee all respiratory care methods and use respirators, masks, incubators and other machines that help patients breathe.
